Ghosts, strangers, and the unknown.

Not Your Year.
Scattered shadows on a wall, you watch the long light fall
Some impressions stay and some will fade
Tattered shoes outside your door, clothes all on the floor
Your life feels like the morning after all year long.
Every day it starts again
You cannot say if you’re happy
You keep trying to be
Try harder, maybe this is not your year.
Movies, TV screens reflect just what you expected
There’s a world of shiny people somewhere else
Out there following their bliss
living easy, getting kissed
while you wonder what else you’re doing wrong
Breathe through it, write a list of desires
Make a toast, make a wish, slash some tires
Paint a heart repeating, beating “don’t give up, don’t give up, don’t give up.”~ The Weepies

Stuck.
I am long overdue for some travel. I need some light, and I need some motivation. I need hope again, for something. I’m stuck and I am afraid to know what is ahead of me.

Apologies.
My apologies, it has been a while since I’ve been back. But life has been taking some interesting turns as of late, and I’m still reeling, I suppose. Call it a semi-quarter-life-crisis. But all’s well and I am still blessed.
More soon.

The past needs to stay.
Tonight I stood behind a man in line at the computer repair shop. He was adamantly questioning the woman behind the counter, about how safe his documents would be. You see, he was transitioning from a type writer. He told her of how the paper felt in his hands, and how the ink smelled. He was sure that his words were there, on paper, but if he were on a computer, how would they transfer? The best part? She couldn’t give him an answer. I shook his hand as I left and said, “I may be only 23 years old, but I know how it feels. It can’t ever be given up.”
